Privacy Policy
Bura processes your personal data only to run the app. There are no ad networks, third-party tracking SDKs, or data sales.
What we process
- Name, username, city — your account and profile.
- Email — sign-in, verification, account recovery, mandatory notices.
- Phone (+90) — verification before contributing (anti-abuse) and account recovery.
- Location — only with your permission and only while the app is open. Background location is never collected.
- Photos and content you share — location/EXIF metadata is stripped on upload.
- Usage events — counts such as which screen was used. Search text, notes and free text are never stored.
- Traffic logs — as required by Turkish Law No. 5651, kept separately with restricted access.
Your contacts never reach us
For friend matching, phone numbers are irreversibly hashed on your device. Our server never sees raw numbers and does not store the hashes it receives.
Who we share with
Only what the service needs: hosting provider, email and SMS delivery providers (only the relevant address/number), and competent authorities where the law requires. No other third party.
Retention
If you request deletion, your account is permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period; anonymous statistics that cannot identify you may remain. Raw usage events expire after 90 days. Verification and recovery codes expire in minutes and are never stored in plain form.
Your rights
Under Turkish data protection law (KVKK art. 11) you may request information, correction, deletion and object to processing. Most of these you can do instantly from within the app.
Age
Bura is for ages 13 and above. Alcohol-serving venue categories are hidden from users under 18.
